I think I should explain my fascination with AI nudes. Of course I love nudes and nude photography, so when I heard that people were making AI nudes I gave it a try. So far the reaction from people has been to completely ignore, hate, or love these images. But I think anyone who dismisses AI imagery as cheap or easy and "fake" isn't really understanding the process. I've messed with several of these now, and it absolutely is a collaborative process. The AI can't do it alone, it understands nothing, and only sends back a wild mangled version of what it is fed. So while it may be true that AI art is replacing or hurting some artists, it's still a tricky human guided process that is making art digital art easier. To make a decent portrait, you have to select the input carefully for the desired output while anticipating how the AI is likely to make a mistake in interpretation. Then you have to filter all the results and use graphic design skills to improve them. Still maybe easier than creating each portrait from scratch? But if you just thoughtlessly feed a couple random pictures of yourself into the engine, you won't get much back. Getting a decent image like this one isn't that easy at the moment anyway.
