Why am I only squatting with 10lb each side? Well, if I’m honest my squat form needs a lot of work. I have an anterior pelvic tilt, lower back problems, and tight muscles. So I lowered the weight, dropped my ego, and will be working on form for a while.
Notice my little butt wink at the bottom. Gotta fix it. But it rocked my legs to go lower. Peep the quads shaking with my extensions.

TEMPO. Changing the speed of your eccentric and concentric movements can feel easy in the beginning, but get to those last few reps and man, it’ll get you. The faces were from set 3 of tempo rows. Try slowing down your tempo and lowering the weight and see how you feel.

So this cut has not been my most successful for multiple reasons. Starting school again has me sitting more, depression flared up, and my workouts became very lackluster. It’s okay though, because I am going to reverse diet to maintenance and try again in a few months.
This is a lifestyle for me so I know my journey will keep going and going.

Did you know the length of your femur can impact your squat form? Those with longer femurs have a harder time keeping their knees from going over their toes and with keeping their chests up.

When doing a cut (especially if you have been lifting for a while), you can’t really expect to gain muscle. So the goal aside from fat loss becomes muscle retention. You do this through the weights you use abs making sure to get adequate protein. Protein will also help to keep you more satiated as your calorie intake decreases.
So far, so good on maintaining muscle mass. Dropping calories again next week.

Sundays are my rest day so I can enjoy family time. It’s a great day to focus on my NEAT calories which are the calories burned through normal daily activity.
The beach is a great way to do that!

Between dancing, sitting at a desk for school, working out, and genetics, my back loves to get all cramped up. Hanging is a great way to relax and decompress the spine. Try hanging for 30 seconds, then 45, then 1 minute. Do it daily and you’ll feel great!
